Tessa Troelstra is an artist inspired by human connection, cultural diversity, and the moments in life that stay with you long after they've passed.

Born in the north of the Netherlands, she traveled the world from a young age, encountering faces, cultures, and ways of life that never left her.

In 2018, she taught herself to paint. Inspiration came first; materials followed. She began collecting discarded cardboard from the streets of Amsterdam, turning what the city threw away into her signature medium. Her self-designed plexiglass box frames seal the raw beauty of the street inside something built to last, while making each piece appear to float.

Her work has always been about people. But in her latest series, Moments, something shifted. After traveling through Mexico, Brazil and Morocco, she found herself drawn not to who someone is, but to what passes between people. A glance. A night. A feeling that lingers.

A moment truly felt becomes a small piece of eternity.
